Happy weekend

I have just found out that my daughter, Arielle, is so tired of being in the kindergarten five days a week, that she kind of punishes the kindergarten by being a bit naughty - so this weekend we are just going to chill and enjoy eachother.
She is a very smart five year old, and I think it's pretty clever to do this, but on the other hand she should know this is not the way to do it. I have now asked my boss if I can stay home some Fridays with my girls. Maybe this will help with her naughtiness.

I got my inspiration from Coastal Living.

A fantastic idea

I found this "subway" poster at Lilblue boo. I just love her blog, she makes so many pretty and kcreative things. She's given a tutorial for her poster here: http://lilblueboo.blogspot.com/2010/01/resolutions-subway-art-tutorial.html

Enjoy her blog and your day.

Princess party all done

Ariana's castle cake - in reality purple, just bad coloring on the photo. She was so happy about it.

Barbie cake in the progress.

Arielle's Barbie cake - she was also very happy with it. I know I could have worked a little more on the detailing, but was very tired after the first cake and decided it was good enough for a little girl's party.

A new way of using balloons...

Huuurrray, candy....

Birthday mode

Thursday is the big day - the girls will be 5 years old! And we are all in a kind of a birthday mode. The girls are of course in their best princess age and we are having a princess party. They love their Barbie dolls, even though I thought (when I was pregnant with them) they would only love practical wooden toys - they are so beautiful.
This birthday we are therefor having one Barbie cake and one castle cake. I also wanted to make cute, romantic invitations, but since they each have their favorite Disney princess, they had to have those.
Ariana's favorite is Snow White and Arielle's favorite is of course Ariel - their names are so similar.
So their birthday will be full of commercial princesses and Barbies, but maybe we still can manage to make it personal.
